Meeting of the City Council of West Peoria, Illinois was held at the
West Peoria City Hall on December 11, 2007.

CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was
called to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. PLEDGE
OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Mayor Jim Dillon.
3. ROLL
CALL
The following
members were present: Alderman Dohm, Alderman Dwyer, Alderman
Ganson, Alderman Mathewson, Alderman Meismer, Alderman Roberts,
Alderwoman Thomas, Alderman Venzon. Also present: Mayor James
Dillon, City Administrator Carlson and Attorney Bill Connor. City
Clerk Carole Stephens was absent.

ADDITIONS AND OR DELETIONS FROM AGENDA
Alderman
Mathewson asked that Item 13 AFLAC Benefits Plan be deleted and put
on the January 8, 2008 City Council Agenda. Approved by council.
5. MOTION TO
APPROVE THE MINUTES from
the November 27, 2007 City Council Meeting was made by Alderwoman
Dohm and seconded by Alderman Dwyer
Corrections:
Alderman Meismer said Item 11 should read; MOTION TO AWARD THE
CONTRACT TO BUILD CITY GARAGE TO PEORIA METRO CONSTRUCTION, INC.

6. COMMUNITY
POLICE REPORT
Officer Chris
Watkins complimented Street Department Manager on the excellent job
his department did with the last ice and snow storm. Officer Watkins
stressed the locking of cars on the street and in your driveway.
Always lock your house when you are home and when you leave.
7. MAYORS
REPORT
Mayor Dillon
thanked everyone for helping set up the West Peoria Residents
Association Christmas Party. The Mayor also thanked the City and
Township Officials and County Board Representative for helping with
the Christmas Sing. Thanks to the Flynn Irish Dancers who
danced at the Christmas Party, everyone at the party enjoyed their
dancing and they did a great rendition of Grandma Got Run Over By A
Reindeer. Mayor thanked Alicia Hermann, our City Engineer for
bringing in Christmas treats to the Council Meeting. Jeff Reagan,
our City Garbage Man for Waste Management, is having a birthday this
week. He was invited to this meeting and hopefully we will
surprise him with a birthday cake.

TO APPROVE PAYMENT TO ERIC JONES C.P.A. FOR FINAL AUDITING IN THE

made by Alderman Mathewson and seconded by Alderman Dohm.
Discussion:
Alderman Mathewson complimented Eric Jones on the way that he
stepped in and helped when we lost our bookkeeper.

COMMENT
Township
supervisor Bob DeSutter talked about the West Peoria Float. The
float goes out to all of West Peoria this time of the year to see
the Christmas decorations.

Monthly Work
Sheet Calendar. This is a reminder to all the committees; Alderman
Mathewson passed out a work sheet calendar to be filled out by all
committees and discussed at the city council meetings. City
Administrator Carlson reported that the Staff at City Hall has had
an in house meeting and are starting to work on it.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
A. FINANCE COMMITTEE ALDERMAN
MATHEWSON CHAIR
The Finance Committee met on
December 5, the Committee went over the Eric Jones C.P.A. billing.
We discussed the Paint Program and discussed the TIF Program.
Krystiana Bronny gave a report on the status of library card
program, the new banners for the city and gave a report on the
status of the Welcome Wall at Heading Avenue and Western Avenue. She
spoke on the recycling program. The Committee reviewed the
Financial Report Our next Meeting will be on January 2nd, 2008 at
5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
- LAND
USE COMMITTEE ALDERMAN DOHM CHAIR
The Land Use Committee has not met
since the last City Council Meeting. Our next meeting will be
December 19th, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
C.
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE ALDERMAN DWYER CHAIR
The Public
Safety Committee met on December 5. The Committee reviewed the
monthly Financial Report, The Code Enforcement Report and the Target
Areas Update. Committee discussed the goals for the next calendar
year and also went over the Lighting District about the
Intergovernmental Agreement that was passed out at the last City
Council Meeting. Our next meeting will be January 2, 2008 at 7:00
p.m. at City Hall.
D. TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
ALDERMAN VENZON CHAIR
The Transportation Committee has not
met since the last City Council Meeting. Our next scheduled meeting
is December 13. We are canceling that meeting. Our next
Transportation Meeting will be January 10, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at City
Hall

Motion to
adjourn was made by Alderman Roberts and seconded by Alderman
Mathewson. Motion carried unanimously by voice. Meeting
adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
